Hedgehog Counting Stick Game

Counting can feel much more inviting when there is something to pick up, place and share. This hedgehog game turns colored sticks into the playful spines on a printed board, giving children a clear little task to explore together. Choose a stick, find a place for it and watch the hedgehog design take on more color as the activity continues. The included dice offer another way to take turns or make up a simple counting game, so the play can change with the group instead of following only one fixed sequence. The board gives the loose pieces a shared focal point, making it easy to sit beside your child and demonstrate a movement before letting them try. Bring it out for a quiet table activity, then gather the small sticks and dice carefully when the game is finished. Keep the pieces supervised during use. Make room for a slower, hands-on moment together. Set out the board and let the first little hedgehog gain its spines.
